Before the World Wide Fame Neil Armstrong received from his Historic First steps on the Moon Armstrong was an aviator in the Navy. As a test pilot Armstrong made seven flights in the X-15 (experimental) program. Armstrong was chosen with the second group of astronauts in 1962 and was command pilot for Gemini 8. Featured in this collection are vintage classic photographs of the legendary Neil A. Armstrong from his early days as a test pilot to the glory days of Apollo 11. Accompanied by an official Apollo 11 embroidered Mission Crew patch, First Lunar Landing 1969 embroidered patch, and engraved information nameplate.
