The commemorative Celebrate Apollo (Program) frames are official limited editions of NASA. Featured in this set are exclusive medallions containing rare Apollo Command Module metal that was flown to the moon (although it would seem impossible, you can now own a rare piece of history that actually flew to the moon!). Only 1,969 pieces of each edition's medallion will ever be produced and they are exclusive to these frames (they will never be offered elsewhere). These medallions are distinctively plated in antique silver and shadowboxed within the presentation. The featured limited edition prints and first day covers have been signed and numbered by renown space artist, Paul Calle. Mr. Calle designed the famous 1969 First Man on the Moon stamp (included on each cover), and the prints were reproduced from his original painting entitled "The Great Moment". Mr. Calle was the only NASA artist to chronicle the preparation of the Apollo 11 astronauts the day of their launch into history. The prints and covers have been numbered by Mr. Calle to match the limited edition number engraved on each frame's story plate. All the other emblems and pins in each edition are officially used by NASA. They are: "First Footprints" (dimensionally rendered from the famous photograph and shadowboxed), the NASA "Meatball", the "Apollo 40th Anniversary", the "Lunar Plaque" (left on the moon by Apollo 11), the Apollo Program, and the official Apollo mission emblems. Each editions matting also tells the Apollo story as they depict the launch, journey to the moon and the safe return to earth of the crew. Each frame also includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity (protected and kept with the frame within a Certificate Envelope - mounted to the back of the frame). Individually packed in a sturdy presentation box - suitable for gift giving.
